Powering Up applications were assessed by the Community Business Connectors and several digital, or climate and sustainability specialists. Assessor determined whether an application was recommended as Approved, Maybe or Rejected and the Powering Up panel members made the final decision.
Assessments with an Equity Flag were reviewed by a second assessor.
The Powering Up panel was made up of the Community Business Connectors, the programme lead and invited members with specialist knowledge in either digital, or climate and sustainability.
Panel members could view a live dashboard to track the impact of their decisions on the make up of the applicant pool.

You can read more about the system the team used here. We have described the tools, offered open templates where possible and indicate potential uses and adaptations for other organisations. The hope is that the tools are reused by others, turning the Powering Up Airtable bases and associated add-ons into an open resource for others.
